Stronghold is a movement of young people who love to worship Jesus. Based in Scotland, we meet to worship together at prayer nights and home groups throughout the year and hold an annual camping festival in the Highlands.
Our movement was founded in 2017 by a group of passionate young people who had been inspired and discipled by the incredible work of Youth 2000 and Craig Lodge.
Our charism is inspired by the parable of the two sons in which Jesus reveals the Father’s heart. every time we gather, we play out this parable by welcoming sons and daughters home and throwing a party for them.
We want our work to be beautiful, like a sweet incense incense lifted up to him. It is this desire that drives us to seek excellence in everything we do.
We are a tiny team of volunteers. The Lord delights in us in spite of our littleness.
We seek to give the Holy Spirit authority and permission to change anything he wants about our plans at a moment's notice.
We rely on Jesus in the Eucharist and Mary our mother to keep us on the straightest path to the father's house. We are faithful to the teachings of the catholic church.
Our leadership team is passionate about our mission to raise up and disciple a movement of young people who love to worship Jesus. They come from all walks of life and offer many different gifts and skills.
Whether it’s in the classroom, on social media or with the people he meets in daily life, Ben is passionate about sharing God's love. After encountering Jesus at Stronghold festival several years ago, Ben can now always be found working away at events, greeting you at the door or working away in the background! Outside of Stronghold, Ben is training at University to become a teacher.
Joseph is passionate about worship leading, revival and fly-fishing. One of the founders of Stronghold, Joseph regularly gives talks and leads worship at Stronghold events. Joseph lives in Glasgow with his wife Rosie.
Kathleen became involved with Stronghold to strengthen her relationship with God and grow her faith through fellowship. She believes that coming together to pray and support one another is an experience that allows us to learn, gain strength and lead our brothers and sisters to experience Jesus. Kathleen is a community nurse based in Glasgow.
Lucy has been a part of Stronghold since it began whilst she was working at Craig Lodge. She has a passion for building the Kingdom and helping young people grow into their faith. Lucy is a university student based in Glasgow.
Mairi-Claire loves to accompany young people in their journey with the Lord. One of the founders of Stronghold, Mairi-Claire can usually be found MC’ing at Stronghold events, running around with a clipboard - or sometimes both! Outside of Stronghold, Mairi-Claire works for in youth ministry for the Glasgow Diocese.
Natasha is an avid enthusiast of Stronghold, board-games and technology. She’s usually found behind the Sound Desk supporting the worship band at Stronghold events. Natasha lives and works in Glasgow.
Rebecca has been involved with Stronghold from the beginning and has seen so many young people encounter Christ in a new way through it. Rebecca takes joy in working with our wonderful volunteers and seeing them grow in their gifts and faith. She is a qualified nurse and is completing further university studies in Glasgow.
Rosie is a wife, mum, teacher, designer, and worshipper. She has been with Stronghold since it began in 2017, and met her husband attending Catholic retreats and doing worship together. They live together in Glasgow and work together to build the mission of Stronghold.
Stronghold is a ministry of Craig Lodge, a House of Prayer, a community, and a centre for mission and ministry based in Dalmally in the Highlands of Scotland. Craig Lodge runs retreats and has ministries for all ages, including a year-long mission school for 18-30 year olds - which we would highly recommend to any young person in our Stronghold Family!
